Coq10 improves the ejection fracture in chronic heart failure

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in Australia with an estimated 300,000 Australians living with congestive heart failure (CHF) and 30,000 newly diagnosed patients every year. A major public health problem, CHF is a complex condition characterised by an inability of the ventricle of the heart to fill with or eject blood. CHF is debilitating for patients, is associated with a poor prognosis and typically presents with dyspnoea and fatigue that can occur with exertion or at rest. Coenzyme Q10 and its role in cardiovascular health Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is an endogenous enzyme and fat-soluble antioxidant that plays a vital role in intracellular energy production.
