Vitamin D testing who when what where

Vitamin D is one of the most commonly requested pathology tests in Australia but there is still debate about who should be tested for vitamin D deficiency, who should be treated and when repeat testing should be done. Endocrinologist and pathologist Dr Paul Glendenning of Royal Perth Hospital summarises the recent Australian guidelines which are broadly consistent with current evidence and advocate only testing individuals at increased risk of vitamin D deficiency.
