Vitamin D plays important role in cancer prognosis

People with very low levels of vitamin D appear to be at higher risk of death from all causes (including cancer) according to new research published online this week which shows the so-called “sun vitamin” could play an important role in cancer prognosis. The researchers writing in the BMJ, conclude that death from all causes as a result of low vitamin D has “high public health relevance” and are calling for this problem to be given high priority.
