UK study supports cardiovascular safety of calcium and vitamin D supplementation

There appears to be no link between calcium supplementation, with or without vitamin D, and hospital admissions or mortality due to cardiovascular events, according to the findings of a new study. UK researchers presented the data, supporting the cardiovascular safety of calcium and vitamin D supplementation, at the International Osteoporosis Foundation World Congress on Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases in Spain this past week.
