Probiotics used in novel treatment for kids peanut allergy

Novel Aussie research has resulted in the successful treatment of kids with severe peanut allergy, opening the potential for a cure for this sometimes fatal immune reaction. The researchers, from Murdoch Children's Research Institute in Parkville, Victoria, found that more than 80 per cent of children who received the treatment were able to tolerate peanuts at the end of the trial, compared to less than 4 per cent in the placebo group.
