Malnutrition and vitamin deficiencies common in pre op bariatric surgery patients

New data from the United States adds weight to existing evidence that malnourishment  and vitamin deficiency is an under-diagnosed comorbidity in people who have a high calorie intake. The data is from a study, published in Obesity Surgery and conducted at the John Hopkins Centre for Bariatric Surgery in Baltimore US, aimed at determining the prevalence of micronutrient deficiencies in bariatric surgery candidates prior to surgery.
