Low zinc levels linked to covid-19 mortality

The important role of zinc in infection control has been further strengthened with new research suggesting that higher zinc levels are associated with lower mortality due to covid-19 infection.

Presenting at the European Society for Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Disease (ESCMID) conference on COVID-19, Spanish researchers shared findings of a retrospective analysis of symptomatic COVID-19 patients who were admitted to hospital between 15 March and 30 April 2020.
