Long term multivitamin use linked to lower heart disease risk in older men

Men with a history of long-term use of multivitamin supplements have a markedly lower risk of suffering a major adverse cardiovascular event, a large US observational study shows. The results, published in the Journal of Nutrition, found multivitamin use was significantly associated with a 14 percent lower risk of cardiac revascularisation. In addition, there were potentially stronger reductions in major cardiovascular disease (CVD) events among men who reported over 20 years of multivitamin use.
