Lactating mums taking carotenoid may enhance bubs eye health

Mums who take carotenoid supplements such as lutein with zeaxanthin while breastfeeding are potentially giving their baby's eye health a boost, new research suggests. The findings, published in the Journal of Nutrition (1), show that lactating women who took the carotenoids had significantly higher levels in their breast milk than those who received the placebo.
