Iron supplementation improves hb recovery time post blood donation

Donors with normal haemoglobin levels still need low-dose oral iron supplementation after they give blood, new US research shows. The study, comparing low dose iron supplementation to no supplementation in blood donors, found that supplementation significantly reduced the time to recovery of post-donation of lost iron and haemoglobin.
