High dose vitamin d beneficial for patients with major depression

Supplementing patients suffering severe depression with high dose vitamin D may have beneficial effects on symptoms of depression, glucose homeostasis and oxidative stress, a recent study suggests. The randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, recently published in the Journal of Nutrition was performed on a group of 40 patients aged between 18 and 65 all diagnosed with major depressive disorder (MDD).
