Gut plays pivotal role in controlling diseases of ageing

Controlling ‘inflammaging’ to prevent bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, heart disease, diabetes and depression, is vital say scientists and clinicians from the Norwich Research Park in the UK. "Inflammation is increasingly being seen as a key event behind ageing, and our results suggest a pivotal role for the gut in this 'inflammaging', " says Professor Claudio Nicoletti from the Institute of Food Research (IFR).
