Extra vitamin d protects bubs against respiratory infections

Mums who take vitamin D supplements during pregnancy and postnatally are protecting their bubs from getting respiratory infections, research from the University of Auckland suggests. The researchers assessed vitamin D supplementation during pregnancy and infancy in women attending a maternity care clinic in South Auckland and found, in comparison to a placebo group, the infants of those who took vitamin D were less likely to make primary care visits for respiratory infections.
