Dietary iron cancels green tea anti inflammatory effects

Consuming green tea along with dietary iron may actually lessen green tea's benefits, according to a preliminary study. Green tea is touted for its many health benefits as a powerful antioxidant, but scientists at Penn State University in the United States have shown in a laboratory mouse model of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), iron cancels out these benefits.
