Compound in green tea found to block rheumatoid arthritis

US-based researchers have identified a potential new approach to combating the joint pain, inflammation and tissue damage caused by rheumatoid arthritis using a compound found in green tea. "Existing drugs for rheumatoid arthritis are expensive, immunosuppressive and sometimes unsuitable for long-term use," said the lead researcher on the project, Salah-uddin Ahmed from Washington State University in Spokane.
