Chondroitin superior to celecoxib in halting progression of knee oa

Chondroitin sulfate trumps celecoxib in reducing the long-term progression of knee osteoarthritis, according to new research findings presented this week at the American College of Rheumatology Annual Meeting in San Francisco. There has been ongoing debate about the efficacy of chondroitin sulfate in treating OA and this latest study by Canadian researchers adds weight to previous research showing that it does have a significant benefit in osteoarthritis.
