Chinese herbal remedy equal to methotrexate in treating rheumatoid arthritis

New research published in the Annals of Rheumatic Diseases shows that a Chinese herbal remedy is just as effective as methotrexate in relieving the joint pain and inflammation from rheumatoid arthritis. The study also showed that combining the herbal remedy with the disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD) methotrexate was more effective than treatment with methotrexate alone.
