Calcium supplementation should not be ceased

Researchers who have argued that calcium supplementation is no longer appropriate due to a proposed link with adverse cardiovascular events are basing their claims on findings that have been widely disputed by experts. Calcium supplementation: the controversy Senior research fellow Mark Bolland, Associate Professor Andrew Grey and Professor Ian Reid of the Bone and Joint Research Group, University of Auckland, recently wrote in Australian Prescriber that calcium supplementation is ineffective and dangerous.
