Whole grains reduce risk of myocardial infarction study

A high intake of whole grains is linked with a lower risk of myocardial infarction, with rye and oats being especially beneficial, recent Danish study shows. The researchers found that a high intake of whole grain products was significantly associated with a lower risk of myocardial infarction. Men and women who had the highest wholegrain intake had a 22 percent, and 29 percent, lower risk of myocardial infarction, respectively.
