Vitamin D deficiency halves IVF conception rate

Women undergoing IVF who are vitamin D deficient have half the chance of conceiving compared to women with sufficient levels of vitamin D, a new study shows. Examining how vitamin D impacts fertility outcomes in women undergoing IVF, Italian researchers analysed 335 patient blood samples provided at the time of cycle preparation. Of the patients, 154 women were classified as vitamin D deficient and 181 women had sufficient levels of vitamin D (at least 20 ng/mL).
