Omega 3 fatty acids shown to exert a positive effect on the ageing brain

Cognitively healthy older people given omega-3 fatty acid supplements show greater improvements on an object location memory task than those who took a placebo containing sunflower oil, according to recent German research published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease. However, there was no evidence of improved performance on a verbal learning test in either group.
