Taking a patented, marine oil blended formula derived from the New Zealand green-lipped mussel significantly reduces post-exercise muscle damage, including soreness and inflammation, according to a new US study.
Published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition, the randomised controlled trial, shows that in a group of 32 untrained men - those who had four weeks of dietary supplementation with the marine oil lipid and n-3 LC PUFA blend (known as PCSO-524®), experienced significantly less lower limb delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), quadriceps pain (tenderness), and peripheral muscle fatigue than those men who were given a placebo.
