Medical cannabis promising in kids with treatment refractory epilepsy

A pharmaceutically produced form of cannabis shows promise for the treatment of children with severe epilepsy, new data suggests, with one large study reporting half the participants had “a 50 percent or greater reduction in seizures”. Three studies presented at the American Epilepsy Society's 69th Annual Meeting in Philadelphia this week highlight the emerging efficacy and safety data of a pharmaceutical liquid formulation of cannabidiol (CBD).
