Coenzyme q10 supplementation positive for heart failure patients

Long term supplementation with coenzyme Q10 in patients with chronic heart failure is not only safe, but may lead to improvements in symptoms, and reduce major adverse cardiovascular events, Australian research suggests. The Q-SYMBIO international, multicentre trial recruited 420 patients across 17 centres in Europe, Asia and Australia between 2003 and 2010 with moderate to severe heart failure who were randomly assigned to either CoQ10 100 mg 3 times daily or placebo, in addition to standard therapy.
