Glucosamine effective when the sulfate form is used studies

Glucosamine supplementation is effective in treating knee osteoarthritis when it is used in its sulfate form as opposed to the hydrochloride one. A difference highlighted by the conflicting results of two recent studies.  According to leading nutritional scientists the majority of evidence, including the recently published Australian LEGS (Long-term Evaluation of Glucosamine Sulfate) study, it is the sulfate form of glucosamine which is more likely to reduce symptoms.
