Blueberry extract looks promising to fight gum disease and reduce antibiotic use

Wild blueberry extract can prevent dental plaque formation, according to US scientists who say their discovery could lead to a new therapy for periodontitis and a reduced need for antibiotics. They found that compounds in blueberries, called polyphenols actually stop oral bacteria from growing.
