Celebrating International Women’s Day on 8 March, Blackmores Mercie Whellan Women+Wellbeing Awards 2021, named after Blackmores’ trailblazer Sister Mercie Whellan, will be offering $10,000 in prizes and prize money as well as participation in a leadership mentoring program. The Blackmores Mercie Whellan Women+Wellbeing awards celebrate women from across Australia who have made an outstanding contribution to their local community by improving the mental health and wellbeing of others. Blackmores, an Australian and global leader in natural health, embraces an holistic wellness approach recognising the importance of both healthy body and healthy mind. This award is an expression of the commitment to that approach, especially as calls grow for support for mental health and emotional wellbeing not only in Australia but all over the world as people manage stress, anxiety and depression coming out 2020 the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2021 International Women’s Day theme - ‘Women in Leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world’ - will be celebrated by Blackmores through this award and its acknowledgment of women across Australia who have shown outstanding leadership in supporting people’s mental health and wellbeing over the past year. This annual award is run in partnership with CCNB, trusted advisors in community health, aged care and disability. Community organisations like CCNB play an essential role in supporting physical, mental, social and emotional wellbeing, helping to ensure that everyone can live their life to the fullest. Consider the women within your own organisation and community network who are making a positive difference to mental health and wellbeing and nominate them for a Blackmores Mercie Whellan Women+Wellbeing Award 2021 here. Nominations close on Friday 19 February at 5pm AEDST, with two award categories – open and youth (ages 15-22). The two category winners (Open and Youth) will each receive $2000 prize money for their nominated charity or cause. An overall winner selected from all the nominations will win the Mercie Whellan Wellbeing Award receiving $5000 for their nominated cause and one runner-up for each of the two categories (Open and Youth) will be awarded $500 prize money. Additionally, all winners and runners-up will be invited to join the Leader’s Room brought to you by CCNB. This leadership program is designed to support women in getting to their next level of community success.
