Daily avocado intake keeps metabolic syndrome at bay

It’s not an apple a day, but an avocado a day according to a comprehensive review published in the journal of Phytotherapy Research.

Investigating the role of avocado in metabolic syndrome, the review examined different in vivo, in vitro and clinical studies to determine the role all parts of the avocado (Persea Americana) – the peel, seed, oil, flesh and leaves – have in metabolic syndrome with the authors concluding most studies suggest the use of this plant in the diet on a daily basis.
